Our trustees come from a wide variety of backgrounds and experience.  Common to them is their deep passion for social justice and their desire to reach out and make a difference.

Gerard Tully - rector

Currently the Rector of St Patrick’s College, Silverstream, Gerard brings long experience in education to the Trust.  A graduate of the University of Otago, he has been a teacher at St Patrick’s College, Wellington, Porirua College where he became Assistant Principal, Wellington College, and Naenae College.  He also spent six years as Rector of St Patrick’s College Wellington.  Married to Gabe, father of Grace, Jack and Lui, Gerard’s home is often a haven for those in need of the sort of care that is special to the Tully whanau.

Mark MULHOLLAND - Lawyer

Educated at Victoria University, Mark is a lawyer in Wellington.  His commitment to those in need is underlined by his chairmanship of the P3 Foundation, a youth-led movement towards eradicating extreme poverty in the world.  Married to Mary, he brings to the Trust a very sharp legal mind as well as his consummate common sense.

Joel Davis-Goff - Youth Development

Joel’s ten years of working with young people highlights the gifts he brings to the Trust.  His degree in Social Policy and Human Geography at Victoria University ignited his passion for social justice.  He is well-known in the Partner Communities, having made frequent visits every year for the last six years, and he has a deep knowledge of the needs that exist in those communities.  Married to Rachael, he lives in Whangarei and continues to work with young people in schools throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.

Jimmi O’Toole - Architect

Jimmi’s architecture masters thesis on the social responsibility of architecure, explored in conjunction with Ngati Tawhiki ki Ngaputahi, illustrates his abiding concern for social responsibility in all walks of life, as well as his knowledge of Te Urewera, the home of the first Next Door community.  Jimmi has been a frequent visitor to the Partner Communities over many years and has been a prime initiator of the Trust.
